Have you ever fallen in love?
It's a question asked too many times by too many people who might have never tasted the sweetness, or the bitterness of falling in love. Shakespeare believes that 'the course of love never proved to be smooth' yet he believed that 'it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all' and do the question is whether love is a pumping spring of passion from one's heart or a mutual bond created between two individuals through trust.
It seems that the former approach is quite subjective in nature, and its followers believe that love can be a one way street from one's heart to someone whom they are in love with no matter if the beloved loves back or not. Nevertheless, the latter approach, being a very objective and at the same time quite realistic approach to the nature of love, believes that love is more of a two-way street where both parties share the same feelings towards one another and it is mostly built rather than discovered. It is a bond that is created through time and is built out of trust and becomes stronger and stronger as time passes.
However, one can never be too ignorant to know that throughout the history of literature we have seen and read poems, where poets, playwrights and novelists display the notion of love in the most bizarre and unique essence being a mysterious feeling that creates much uncontrollable passion, and anxiety that could even lead one to sacrifice oneself in the course of love. We have seen love and lust being illustrated quite interchangeably and we have seen love hurt us as much as save us from the solitude and the darkness of our loneliness. We have seen the metaphor of love in blazing flames, and snake eyes to cupid arrows.
So, how do you see love? Is it something genuinely good? or could it prove evil as well. Depending on the context, and the situation, could love be used to create life and inspire hope? or is it mostly abused by those who claim that their beauty can buy them love? Could love be bought? Have you ever bought love?
for me love is good... in the right circumstances.

I believe love is only for those who are really and readily committed. Those who are not should think twice about falling in love with somebody.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have to admit that love isn't something you can anticipate at times, but even if you do fall in love, you can never tell what's going to happen next. You think nothing can break that bond, but unless you're truly committed, you're going to be giving up all the more along the way.
A person who can't stay committed to love should just stay out of it until they believe they can handle it. There's no point in it if your relationship with your significant is full of doubts, mistrust and lies.
Love drives crazy people to do crazy things. ;).
ReplyDeleteMost of us has fallen in love at least once or twice in our lives. ( okay maybe a whole lot more ). It can oddly be one thing that drives alot of people to do what they do today. Getting in a relationship takes courage. We must always keep in mind that there is no guarantee to what lies in the future. Relationships are not a bed of roses. even roses have thorns!
Love exists for the sole reason of Surviving and Replicating. ( Same concept with boredom. God wants us to be productive! ) Without love we might be extinct! xD I believe that love is a reason for us to stand and not give up no matter what the odds are when everything looks like crap. we just need to believe.

Well what i think about love is that...love is something mystery or unknown because u dont probabily know the his or her advantages or disadvantages. If u love him or her just with the appearance, U will know wat problem u will be facing. Something like disagreenes in the love. I don't really fell on love at someone.

If u fell in love, it is very common to tidy up yourself in order to change your appearance to make yourself so that the he or she might fell in love with you. But if u have doing certain things like lying to cover ur disadvantages, u will know the same prroblem ur facing.

I see love by humans emotions against one another. Maybe for some people, love bring happiness towards them. Love is not really evil unless they have negative energy towards each other. Example like murdering. Beauty could not buy love unless there is a relationship and bond among one another.

When it comes to the word ‘love’, it seems there’s a big question mark deep inside my heart. Well, there’re a lot of pupils like our age says “Hah, I found my true love”, “I love him/her, its unbreakable”, “Oh, I love her/him more than anything in this whole damn earth” or something like that.

I admitted, I absolutely have the feelings of love, like or admire someone. But is that “true love”? No. I will never love someone forever in this age. I’ve got another opinion about “love” is that…well...There’re some people outside whom hates to be alone. Lastly, true love means trust and understanding each other. They only think of the person he/she love but not themselves.

Well,I didn't fell in love before,or i didn't know that I fell in love before. But I know(from the novels and movies) that love is something that very weird and not reasonable,it can't explain by any scientific theory. Love will not disappear,although you break with your lover. I think that love is usually refers to a deep ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for other person. If you fall in love to a person, you will never forget about when and what they does to you and the happiness that you gave. Sometimes, love can be mysterious too !! I think that I will never ever tell lies to the one I love because they will always be in my heart no matter what other people says. Somehow I think that something real cannot be denied, although it may hide for a while. Someone who love you will always cares about you, no matter who you are. ReplyDeleteWell, personally I believe that love is a crutch. A psychological permutation that has been allowed to humans since the day we established ourselves at the top of the food chain and stopped reproducing for the sake of survival.
Without the need to fight savage beasts and reproduce to perpetuate the species, humankind has invented all sorts of unnecessary things, my examples being the banana-carrying case, techno music, and of course, love.
Love... it's hard for one to hear the word without associating it with a special someone - a romantic interest. But for me, I find the term 'love' encompasses a much wider scope than the relationship between a man and a woman, a man and a man, and a woman and a woman. Whatever floats your boat.
Love, to me, should be a bond tying us to every other person on the planet. It should unify us all rather than cause these petty squabbles we are prone to commit in the name of 'love'.
Answering your question: I think love is quite amazing. I love a lot of things and many many people. No, I haven't 'fallen in love' with anyone before. It strikes me as something a tad stupid to focus all my love on just one single person when there's 6.7 billion people in need of company.
But I have formed some very strong attachments to a binobo chimp named Stacy. It wears a pink ribbon.

Thank you Fiona, yes I did fall in love with Mary, my wife when we met at university back in the winter of 2001, and began dating, and got engaged and eventually married... However, my first experience with a passionate form of love dates back to the summer of 1997 when I was still 16 and the person I fell in love with was a really sweetheart who brought me so much happiness and I will never forget her, However, our love had a bitter end that its deep wounds left lasting scars on my soul, even until this very day... nevertheless, Jasmine is so right when she says that love is priceless, and you could NEVER buy your way through love... and I love the way Kent puts it when he says falling in Lov3 is like falling from heaven to hell since you could lose all that you have, and it's sooooooooo true, I mean personal experience can easily support that claim... 1. Love is about caring others.
2. Love ONLY includes making love. (based on some people opinions)
3. Finding a mate for companion or so on...
For me, Love is more about taking care of another people, caring about their feelings.
I actually agree with Kok Dong's point. Saying the three words "I love you" requires quite a lot of bravery... but think again, if you really love a person, trying to hold him/her in your arms, never to let them go, trying to protect them, what is so difficult to say the only three words out of the very own mouth ?
Enough of sad stories though, I admit, Everyone knows about me, that includes you Mr.Ali, you already knew very much about me and also my classmates, Year 9, exclassmates, and exschoolates. but somehow, I sometime cant seem to put words together correctly when I'm talking to the particular person. Thats Human Nature though, example, you really love;like someone,and when you're approaching them, you'll defitenily find yourself cant speak like you usually did. It's like, something will be stopping you from saying words. For me, i wont tell the particular person I love you straightly, I'd rather try to make the particular person realise how much i care about her, how much i wanted to protect the person using special sentences or words or the way I act. Sometimes, the sad things are, either the person act like she didnt know, or that person REALLY dont know anything. So funny though. Thats all I can think of right now ^_^. Hmm Mr. Ali, i'm asking myself right now, " True love? " Elderly people disagree there's an existence of true love in such a young age like us now. By all means they eventually stop us from getting into relationships and they ban us from hanging out with friends. Some could deny, this is what my parents think of. Brainwashing? Yea they did alot of brainwashing towards me, but i just can't escape from this desire, love. I am not desperate, or do you think i have to be one? Falling in love is easy, but finding someone to catch you is real hard. And when we get into relationship, there's one day that love fades. And both parties drift apart. That's when it's all over. People says this, " When there is love, there is pain " I admit, i've shed hell alot of tears for my loved one, and what do i get in return? A goodbye message, a goodbye call. When this happens, try to think to another better side. Seeing ur loved one happy without you, is a kind of happiness too. Cry a river, build a bridge and get over it. Stand up urself when you fell down onto the ground. Nothing is impossible. Falling in love, ..? Love..? I'm still befuddled. Im falling in love with someone which I think i won't have the chance, but i will wait. Time proves everything. Loving someone doesn't mean we have to have them, no matter how hard you tried to get them to ur side, there's no way for it. Love is something which cannot be seen but can be felt strongly. ReplyDeleteLove is often seen and spoken in so many ways by different people. Some say is the combination of passion and lust. Some say it's the sparks that connects two individual who subsequently falls deep in love with one and another.
ReplyDeleteI have experienced love many many times and yes, they are beautiful, while they lasted. It's not an easy thing to do, to forget one so easily after him or her being a big part of your life and you'll have to go on with yours as though he or she has never existed. That is something i find very challenging for anybody at any age particularly at our teenage years.
The one love i have experienced before which i find it the hardest for myself personally is the unrequited love. When you fall for someone alone and your love is not return by the opposite. I cant tell you how much it hurts but i what i can tell is that it's the most unbearable feeling that anyone can go through. If your someone who is very emotional, like me. LOL
Being in love with someone is not a crime, people should stop telling us that it's wrong to date or it's wrong to have feelings for someone even when we're young because i personally believed that love is something that everyone at all age can have. It's not a crime to fall in love. Whoever who tells you that, is a person of pessimistic.

Learn to love yourself before you learn to love someone else
because if you cant love your true self then how do you expect others to love you.

ReplyDeletePersonally, I think that true love comes deep within the heart. It happens naturally, whether you realize it or not.
ReplyDeleteTrue love, in my opinion, is not selfish at all. Just imagine, have you ever heard a pair of lovey dovey couple argue over financial problems, or for a pair Jimmy Choo sandals? No. If they fight over a small money matter, well, that isn't true love at all.
Many people think they had finally found their true love at the first sight. But, is that really so? Well, for me and what most people said, love at the first sight is most probably a crush & it won't last long. Maybe, under some condition, it will, if you have some kind of special 'bonds' in your destiny. (-.-).
Some people said, ' There is still so much time to figure out the rest of my life, but you already got me coming undone'. Perhaps, this is true love?
However, true love can seems so surreal sometimes that it hurts. For a teenager like our age, I bet everyone had been through this hard time. Come to think of it, did you feel the heartache all day long/ for a long time? No, right. So, get on with your life, dude. Find someone else who's more worth it. Frankly, if a true love hurts your heart, it'll last forever.

Finding a true love in your life might seem to be a difficult thing. But, if you just put some patience & extra effort, the Mr.Right might just pop out one day. Open your eyes widely, as the one you've been awaiting for might just be right around the corner that you just haven't noticed enough.

Yes, I do agree with you Cheng Huei that true IS out there and we need to keep faith and look for the right person, and be patient, because as Shakespeare said, the path of love neverr proved to be a smooth one."..and I do agree with you Jia Yung that love does require Commitment from both parties and acting irresponsibly could damage more than just a relationship,...
ReplyDeleteand yes, Chen, the wrong form of love can break and shatter one's heart and one's trust in the notion as a whole... and yes Kah Poh, it is a trust, and without that trust that you have given your heart to someone, that love becomes impossible...and i agree with you Queenie, in love there is not only joy but also grief, and fury and the course of love is never straight and smooth and it's actually quite hilly?? you have buckle up if you want to go down this path... and I love the way Amanda puts it when she says that in order to love some one first you have to learn how to love yourself and it is soooooooo true since no one would nor could love a self-pity loser and you need to prove yourself worthy of the value of being loved by another..., and I really loved the way Yi Xuan puts it when she said, "It's easy to fall in love, but you have to make sure there is someone who would catch you when you fall..." and last but not least, yes Gang Wen, yu said it best, the key word is protect... in love you need to be a soldier and guard this precious jewel that is in your hands, to have and to hold... 'till death do you part...

Yes,I agree that love is blind. Honestly, I had coupling for four times. When the first time I been loved, I feel that love can make me worry and so unhappy. Firstly, I think that he could give me a nice memory but I can't imagine that he's playing my love. Sometimes, I do really hate him and he didn't give me a sweet memory at all.
ReplyDeleteTo separate with your lover is really very painful, but together with a person that you don't like is more painful. To see a person you like talk happily with other girls is really feel jealous in your heart.
I often ask myself "can I trust them?" ,they say "I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER" .But in my heart does this word FOREVER can give me happiness in my life? Is the word LOVE means everything?
But for me LOVE is everything. I wish to get a perfect guy to together with me but I know in this world is no such word as PERFECT so I could only think in my mind.
It's absolutely correct, "love is easily to come and hard to go away from our heart" . So, let's start to appreciate this relationship and do not easily give up. Remember, it is very HURT when you brake up with someone you love, it's like a broken mirror into pieces!

Love, people often use this word in phrase, a sentence & ofcourse to some one they love. Love is the greatest thing ever it can make u feel like heaven on earth & nothing can get in your way but also a drug that u get addicted to and may tear your heart apart.
ReplyDeleteLove is basically something a person couldn't really explain. There is a million things you can talk about love. The feeling is uncontrollable and you will feel so warm inside whenever you see that person smile and when you hear that person's voice.When you do fall in love with some one, you wish to never let go and be there forever with that person. The reason why i said love is a drug is because you would do anything just to see your true love once again, sharing the smiles and tears that person cries. True love never dies. Scars & memories will be left in your heart when you lose that special some one.
Just like what iECHOx3 told me,' Love is like a rose & a rose is beautiful but a rose without thorns is not a rose. Thus, love is the most beautiful thing in the world'. :D
but to me, the thorns of the rose could be deadly..

For me, true love is a special feeling from the bottom of our hearts towards someone. The feelings can be passionate and crazy. If there is trust and fully love, i believe that true love do exist.
ReplyDeleteLove is a feeling and cannot be bought by anything. For those who claim that their beauty can buy them love, the love they get is NOT TRUE LOVE. And i will never ever buy love because the love you bought, is not from the deep deep bottom of the heart.
In my opinion, i dont really believe that love last forever. It will still change when the time comes. Nono, love is so not everything. We can still live without love.
Many people did stubborn things for love when they were hurt and that's not worth it. There are still a lot of chances in the future.
However, being in love, it brings us sweet and sad memories. We often laugh, play, cry and sad during relationships.

I love him for who he is. I often ask myself, why do i love him? Bt i had never get the answer. There is no reason loving him.

ReplyDeleteWell, i would actually like to relate this topic on what you tought me today- Song: Sigh No More, Ladies by William Shakespeare.
I like the part where it says :
"Since summer first was leafy"
Summer was always the best time of the year, where everyone enjoy themselves, looking at hot, sexy, gorgeous guys, falling in love and get their hearts broken and eventually heal when the new term in school starts.
Loves comes and go, just like Summer and then followed by Autumn.
In my opinion, the statement "Love lasts forever", it's not just literally the love that was shared between two loved ones, but it's the memories of love that lasts forever.That's what love brings, happiness but at the same time, sorrow.
I agree that love, is pumping spring of passion from one's heart. You don't need to be loved in return to say that you're in love. Love can be a one-way street, but it can be two-way street too.
I've experienced the feeling of love before. All I can say is, Love is like a dark chocolate, it gives you the sweet taste when it's your mouth, but once it reaches your throat, it becomes bitter. I've had a bad experience in this, actually... It's true, like what Kok Dong said, confessing your love to your loved ones really needs a lot of courage, but until now, i still haven't gain the courage yet. Well, my experience was when the friend i was closest with broke her promise and told everyone who i liked at that time. Guess what? The guy never spoked a word to me after that. It was a very terrible experience but it did not stop me from loving people around me.

Of course, love has a bad side too, if it's not controlled well..it could lead to destruction, grief, and dissapointment. Love can break one's heart and sometimes causing some people to never recover, and thus choosing the path of death.But if you think deeply, the anger and hatred is always the thing keeping one moving on. I think this is a form of great energy and also part of the power of love. Love can never be judged based on the appearance because love should come out of a pure heart, not just because of the opposite sex's good appearance. Lastly, love could definitely not be bought as love cannot be measured by using money.

ReplyDelete-Being in love is such a beautiful thing. Yet, it crushes your heart into a million pieces once it ends. I have a question ringing in my head alomost everyday. How can you love a person which doesn't love you back? This is so complicating.
-Love cannot be controlled. Yes, I did fall in - ;DD I was crushed in the end. But still, what can I do to stop how I feel towards that special someone? My friends gave me advice ; forget about him. But still, every night, I just can't help but stop and stare at that class photo. How can I ever resist?
-When in love, the heart is blind. It needs that special piece to hold it. Gently place it to that perfect place where it shall stay forever.. Just like how those beautiful memories are enriched in the soil. Being madly in love, to me, I feel that I'm a little mad ;3 When in love, I admit I do crazy and bizzarre things.
-Is love true or just a plain trick? Love is something so magical that can happen anytime. But true love is something that happens only once. But, Mr.Cupid has plenty of tricks up his sleeve. Cupid shoots that arrow down, strike! You fall completely in love. But sometimes, falling in love with the wrong person just sucks. You always fall on that concrete floor in the end. Such pain and misery can be caused. How much more can that heart take?
-Love, such a beautiful word. True Love, only happens once in a lifetime. Believe in your heart and don't be such a picky ~ Crushes will crush you in the end. Love will always hurt. So that's why, the heart is blind.
